Imagine spending just about your entire life in the wilderness; in surroundings that force you to be one with nature and keep you alone.

This is exactly what Howard Weamer's past 35 years have been like. He has spent his winters as a hutkeeper in Yosemite National Park's back country and fills his days writing, reading, photographing, and being an ambassador to mountain culture.

This brief look into his world and a story as to why he chooses to stay, is breathtaking. You can sense the emotional tie that he has with the land, but also the attachment to his life and moments in it.

The videography is fantastic. You can feel the winters and feel the experience that Weamer has gone through over the years.
