TRON: Legacy Theatrical Trailer Debuts
The first complete theatrical trailer for the upcoming TRON: Legacy debuted today at Comic Con and it looks more or less like what we've been waiting for since the first images from the film started coming out. They visually are a stunning update of the original, maintaining the spirit of the 80s with a 21st century polish and sheen. This sequel seems to have at its core a fairly archetypical father-son conflict, but I'm hoping the filmmakers have chosen to spare too much emotion and focus mainly on delivering the goods.
This could be a stunning sci-fi action flick or it could end up a ham-fisted mess. It's all going to come down to (a) how well they handle the central conflict of the film and (b) how well first-time helmer Joseph Kosinski can pull off the mind-melting action sequences a film like this requires.
