Still Think Reality Stars Have Talent? I Offer Exhibit A

This is Danielle Staub of The Real Housewives of New Jersey. In a perfect world I would ignore her existence, however, I live a world of hellish reality TV, where ordinary people (and apparently some below ordinary) are told that they have talent. Enough talent to take them from bad karaoke to the big stage.

Danielle is performing a club version of her single "Real Close," with Lori Michaels, and to be perfectly frank, it SUCKS. And not just a little sucky, like Britney Spears when she was trying to make her comeback after going postal, but SUPER suck, as in a person who just can't sing.

I realize that people love these reality stars because of their supposed "relatability." I get it. If a nobody can become a somebody then there's hope for us all. But the problem is, it takes out all the elements of effort, talent and hard work that real artists put into becoming a star.

The barriers to stardom exist for a reason. And in this case, it's to keep our ears from begging for mercy.
