RoboCup is an international robotics competition in which contestants build soccer-playing robots of various sizes to play against one another in mechanized bouts. The ultimate goal? To build robots capable of defeating human players by 2050. But if the sock-folding/masturbation robot is any indication, they're still a long, long way away. This video highlights some of this year's robot action. While they may be far off from challenging a flesh and blood opponent, this is still a hell of a lot more interesting to me than watching the World Cup.
