Gem Club: "Animals" (Music Video)
Video artist BriAnna Olson helmed this lovely and haunting video for Gem Club's "Animals." The simple but lovely concept suits the quiet mood set by the track. In the hands of someone less subtle or talented, these five girls and their clown noses might have come off more hipsterish and twee than they do here. Instead, there's a very human warmth. As one commenter on Vimeo remarked, "it feels like a family." Not much happens here, but if you watch the video like a series of moving photographs, it forms a striking tone poem to match the music.
