Eminem and Rihanna's "Love the Way You Lie" Music Video
Eminem and Rihanna have both been involved in some very public and very ugly domestic violence disputes. "Love the Way You Lie," a single the two musicians recorded together, is a controversial and honest look at a relationship marked by domestic violence. It's certainly not the most nuanced approach to the subject that's ever been taken, but it's shockingly blunt and raw for a radio single.
The new music video for the song emphasizes the confrontational nature of the material. Actors Dominic Monaghan and Megan Fox portray the song's protagonists, lending a dramatic flair to the production. While the style of the video (or the song, for that matter) isn't up my alley, it's received equal parts admiration and derision for its fairly realistic and honest portrayal of a relationship marred by domestic violence.
