When Arcade Fire wanted to do a live webcast of their show at Madison Square Garden, they asked celebrated film director Terry Gilliam to come direct. This behind-the-scenes video shows Gilliam and the band preparing for the show. For fans of either the director or the group, this is a fun and illuminating glimpse backstage. Everyone in the band comes across as exceptionally good-natured, despite their uniformly poor haircuts. If only their new album could have been half as charming as this, then maybe the hype would begin to justify itself.
