Blackberry Beta Zone Open To Public
Admit it: you've always wanted to be a beta tester, if for no other reason than the ability to say something like "oh yeah, I was a beta tester for that app" over a drink some evening.
Well, if you're a Blackberry user, your time may be at hand.
Research In Motion (RIM) the manufacturer of the Blackberry smartphones, has opened the Blackberry Beta Zone up to the public. By signing up, agreeing to the usual rigmarole, and telling them what Blackberry you use, you will become eligible to download official RIM Blackberry releases before all the great unwashed masses can.
Now keep in mind this is for official RIM releases only, and you'll grab all the rest of your apps through the usual channels, but folks have been able beta OS 5.0 for the 8520 and 8530, an updated version of Messenger, and an updated version of Enterprise Server (for some corporate users). Members can also partake in discussions and provide feedback to developers.
The homepage, though, has a fairly interesting shot of a Twitter client - not available yet, put in implication is that by signing up, you may be the first to get your greedy little thumbs on it.
