Surround sound speakers are quickly becoming a widespread commodity with audiophiles and gadget lovers alike. When it comes to enjoying your preferred movies, a 5.1 surround sound DVD player is the perfect way to give your entertainment system the extra increase it needs to go from mediocre to totally incredible.

Why a 5.1 surround sound DVD player? Surround sound stereo systems usually come in three models: 5.1, 6.1, and 7.1. In this case, a 5.1 surround sound system means you would get 5 speakers, and one sub-woofer.

While there's no difference in sound quality, having six or seven speakers permits you a wider scale to play with when it comes to fine tuning how your sound is received.

However, there are many reasons users from everywhere use 5.1 speakers instead.

For one, they are a bit simpler to handle than different systems. In this case, all you need to do is hook up five speakers and one sub-woofer and arrange them all over the room.

This leads to an amazing array of acoustic illusions every time you insert a DVD. Each speaker transmits fine, perfect sound each time.

What makes them actually distinctive is that you'll be able to enjoy resonance from all directions rather than just from the front of the room.

They also play significant sounds from exact locations as well - meaning if the performer hears a noise to his left, you'll hear it to your left too.

But when it comes to setting up a 5.1 surround sound DVD player, for some people there's still some difficulty involved with. This can be mostly as users purchase speaker systems without thinking of how their room is set up.

This results in plenty of messy wires scattered across the floor, which is not only ugly, but a tripping hazard as well.
