India High Court Rules to Instill Confidence in Usage
Following a heated altercation over rules of content and internet conduct, India's Delhi High Court has requested that 21 internet firms, including Google and Facebook, comply with local religious customs and rules of decorum by removing from local internet consideration, certain images and words that may “corrupt minds” and be difficult to 'unhear' and justify ...
Though both Google and Facebook claim and confirm that they have complied with the court's demand that they remove objectionable material, Facebook, (and Yahoo! and Microsoft) stand in protest of the suggestion of guilt, since they claim to be targeted with no specific complaint.
India's request that all 21 firms present plans for a system that will prevent future breach of conduct was met with American insolence, and the off-loaded burden of respectful suitability, since these sites provide that users all be responsible for their own uploads and shared content, and that Facebook, Google and others have a non-interference policy.
A fifteen day deadline has been imposed, and the court requires adherence to certain codes of conduct for religious interpretation between countries, and the promise of protection of standards suitable enough for India's 100 million internet users, since US standards fall un-policed and burdensome.
