Four Tips for Yahoo! Answers Success
I have been perusing and answering questions for some time now, and I have since realized that there are countless others who could be enjoying this free service in a much more efficient manner. This would save time, allow for more reading/answering, and just be a much better time.
1. Leave out the bad language. Some offended reader will most likely report this behavior, your post will be deleted and you will lose the ill-gotten points. And, the reporter might block you.
This may not sound too terrible, but what if some time in the future you posted a difficult question that only this person could adequately handle? What then? Hmmmmm? You would be in trouble, but would never know that you could have had help.
2. Leave out the extraneous characters, sentences and comments. Misspellings will happen. They will. Maybe they will not happen to you, but they will certainly happen to someone, somewhere, sometime, somehow.
This can certainly be overlooked. But, occasionally, some avid poster will go wild with the Control-C, Control-V commands and there will be extra text in the post. It is pretty obvious and pretty needless. It can really detract from that which you seek.
3. Do not be verbose. If your inquiry can be summed up in two or three sentences, please do so. Sometimes, the poster is wanting compassion and understanding and this is much easier to accommodate when the poster has been a thoughtful and considerate poster.
4. Google it! This two-word answer fits a guesstimated thirty to forty percent of all Yahoo! Answers questions. Just Google it. Just punch in applicable keywords at any major search engine or directory. Just do it.
