Dell's Lightning WP7All right, so if you believe what you read and you read TechCrunch, you were probably under the impression that Dell will drop WP7 from its roadmap.

WRONG.

Deutsche Bank telecommunications analyst Jonathan Goldman said that out of the eight handset manufacturers that Microsoft announced with Windows Phone in February, only three are left (HTC, Samsung, and LG). If this was true, the WP7 Dell Lightning would never be released.

Thankfully it's not true.

Dell's Matt Paretta stated that Dell was 100% still a part of the Windows Phone 7. In the words of Dell:

"Any reports, or speculation, that report Dell will not support Windows Phone 7 are false... Microsoft announced Dell as a supporting partner at this year's Mobile World Congress and nothing's changed. We are excited to collaborate with Microsoft on Windows Phone 7, and are looking forward to bringing customers amazing mobile experiences."

Jonathan Goldman had also clarified that he believed that Dell was a partner, but not a launch partner.
