Soon it will be the day after Thanksgiving!
Ah, it's that time of year when the morning air snaps you awake and the scent of fallen leaves permeates your kitchen and the brisk fall air carries one distinct sound for miles: "OH MY GOD, THE NEW MACBOOK HAS A POLYCARBONATE UNIBODY SHELL! THAT'S GOOD, RIGHT?"
Apple dropped their Christmastime offerings today, refreshing their consumer line with a new entry-level MacBook, new iMacs, a new multitouch mouse, new Mac Minis, updated Time Capsules and Airport Extremes, and a fancy new remote plays the part of the partridge in a pear tree.
So what does the wonderful world of blogs say about the Apple refresh?
• TUAW - Chris Ullrich offers the quickest update on all the hardware if you're in a hurry to buy/mock them all.
• TheNextWeb - Alex Wilhelm will be visited by three spirits after his evisceration of the day's events, summing up with "Spare me." If he's lucky, none of them will be Whoopi Goldberg. He also notes obliquely that the mythical ebook/netbook/faith healing device known colloquially as the Tablet is still nowhere to be seen.
• iFixit - Ah, the best part of Christmas Product Release Day for hardcore geeks, young and old... the tearing apart of the presents and then the tearing apart of the actual gift to see how it ticks. Want to see the insides of a MacBook?
• 9to5Mac - Jonny Evans notes the Apple frenzy extends to Wall Street with noted wildasstigator Jim Cramer hinting at $400/share for AAPL stock someday.
• Crunchgear - And, in a significant stroke of bad timing, Barnes & Noble launched their new ebook reader today. It's called Nook, but it was decidedly uncranny of them to drop it today. (Sorry. Too much eggnog.)
