T-Mobile Gets Android-Aggressive (BOGO + Free Extra Lines)
While Verizon has been talking all about its new buy-one-get-one Android phone deals, T-Mobile has just upped the ante. Not only are they offering the Samsung Vibrant, which is the T-Mobile version of the incredible Galaxy S phone, as a buy-one-get-one deal, they're letting you add up to 3 additional lines to a family plan at no cost through 2012.
The Samsung Vibrant has been covered here before, so I'm not going to go into it beyond saying it's spec'd to the gills with a high-res screen, 16GB of built-in memory, a 5 MP camera and a 1 Ghz processor. Plus, it ships with Android 2.1. And now, if you buy one and take a two year contract, you get a second one free after $50 mail-in rebate. Sweet.
Then there's the family plan thing. From now until November 2, adding lines 3-5 to a family plan is free. Kinda. On plans that have a set number of minutes and unlimited text, they share the minutes and get unlimited text gratis. On unlimited web, there's an additional charge.
For unlimited talk plans, the additional lines get unlimited text, but only 200 minutes of talk for free, and as with the other plans, unlimited web will cost more.
Still though, a pretty damn good deal that makes the most reasonably-priced major carrier even more reasonably-priced.
