Quickly Find Installed Applications or Contacts Using QuickDroid
Android devices allow users to install as many applications as they want, in addition to all the music, bookmarks and contacts that they have (Memory permitting, of course).
For some users, this will inevitably lead to an information overload, which will require some nifty way to organize the contents of their gadgets.
Some will use folder widgets, others resort to advanced launchers to organize their applications.
The clueless ones will eventually give up and accept whatever mess they have on their phones.
Enter QuickDroid. This simple application will help you locate your applications, musics, bookmarks and contacts quickly and easily.
To install it, type 'quickdroid' on the Android Market app.
It will work like Quicksliver on Mac, or Gnome-Do on Linux desktop.
Upon installation, a new item will appear on the notification bar.
To use, tap on this item.
A text input field will appear you to type in your query.
Et Voila! QuickDroid will populate the results as you type.
After using it for some time, you will have the option to enable search history.
This is quite convenient as QuickDroid will note your frequently-searched apps, so you won't have to search for it again and again.
QuickDroid also allows you to specify particular search parameters. You might want to search for just apps and music items, or maybe apps and contacts only.
This way, you'll have a snappier QuickDroid as it will skip extraneous/irrelevant terms.
One last thing I learned from QuickDroid: it's faster than Android's built-in Google Search.
