O.K. Motorola Android handset users, you can stop calling your carrier and begging for information about your next Android update from people that have little or no idea of what you are talking about.

Motorola has actually made public their Android software upgrade schedule, and there's some good and bad news. Among the good: the Backflip gets 2.1 in Q3, and the Cliq and Cliq XT should be following suit shortly thereafter.

The Droid, as many of you know, is already getting its 2.2 upgrade as it rolls out in phases, and the Droid X should be getting its update to 2.2 very, very soon.

The bad? Well, Canadian and European users of the Backflip and Dext may be a bit unhappy. Upgrade to 2.1 is "under evaluation" for Canada, and not even planned in Europe.
