Motorola Droid 2 Now Available
Well for all of you Motorola Droid owners’ out there waiting for the successor to the original, your wait is now over; Verizon has released the Motorola Droid 2 today.
The design of the handset still looks similar to the Motorola Droid except that it’s missing a track pad. The Motorola Droid 2 will have a 1 GHz processor, a 3.7-inch touch screen display, a 5.0 MP camera, 8GB of internal memory, a 8GB microSD card that is expandable to 32 GB.
The Motorola Droid 2 will have Android 2.2 running on it. The headset will also support Flash 10.1, which will allow users to play flash based games and view flash based websites & video content.
The handset will also support the 3G Mobile Hotspot, which will allow the user to use the handset to connect up to five devices to the internet via Verizon’s 3G network. There is a drawback to this feature though: the customer will have to pay an extra $20 dollars a month in order to use it.
The handset will also have Swype, which allows the user to input text into a message by sliding their finger to each letter instead of having to tap each individual letter.
The Motorola Droid 2 will be available in a Star Wars R2-D2 version in September. The Motorola Droid 2 is now available for $199.99 with a two-year contract & after a $100 mail-rebate. For more information on the Motorola Droid 2 go to Verizon’s website.
