Nationite has just announced that they'll be releasing an Android-based tablet this August 23rd.

The Nationite Midnite is being marketed as a mobile internet device, and will ship with Android 2.2 (Froyo) running on an ARM A8 Cortex processor. Downsides? The display is a fairly basic 800x480 7" non-multitouch touchscreen, the proc is only a 600mHz chip, and the thing comes with only 256MB of RAM.

On the flip-side, it does have 2GB of internal storage and supports microSDHC for expansion, has built-in WiFi and has the usual USB expansion port (usual, that is, unless we're talking about an iPad). It also has a removable 3000 mAH battery good for a claimed 5-6 hours with WiFi on, and 7-10 hours with it off.

And while the specs may not be staggering, neither is the price. Preorders prior to August 9th can snap one up for $199. Preorders after then will cost you $209, and then the price goes to the full $219 on release day. Hit their site for more information and/or to pre-order.
