Android Sales Up Nearly 900% in Q2
And that's growth, bitches.
According to research firm Canalys, the sales of Android OS handsets in Q2 2010 grew an incredible 886% over the same period in 2009. The firm compiled shipment data from key manufacturers like HTC, Motorola, and Samsumg, among others, to track sales of handsets running the OS.

Other key findings in the report show the smartphone market itself growing 64% in the second quarter, and shipments of RIM's BlackBerry grew by 41% due, in all likelihood, to the release of devices like the Curve 8520. Even Apple, despite the Antennagate fiasco, showed strong growth with 61% growth and a move to 13% of the worldwide market.
But the big win was Android, and with more and more handsets running Android coming to market in the coming year, things don't look like they'll be slowing any time soon.
