tribeca film

Tribeca Film is a film festival founded in 2002 by actor Robert de Niro, producer Jane Rosenthal and real-estate investor Craig Hatkoff. Alongside the Tribeca Film Institute, the festival was created after the events of September 11th 2001, in an attempt to revitalize the Lower Manhattan neighborhood of TriBeCa.

The declared mission of the festival is to "enable the international film community and the general public to experience the power of film by redefining the film festival experience". The annual festival now attracts an estimate of three million people and generates 600 million dollars each year. As of 2010, the festival is managed by Tribeca Enterprises.
