Ah, price — the ubiquitous number attached to everything we want but don't have. Most things have a set price; a number to attach to the value of the thing being sold. Roma tomatoes are $0.99 a pound, a foreclosure is $0.78 on the dollar, a Gucci handbag sneezed on by Jennifer Aniston is $78 million.

In general, the price of something is related to production cost, its uniqueness, and the general market demand.

If you are considering a large purchase, it's often a wise idea to find a mentor for the item or experience you are buying. For example, in business, there are purchase price allocation experts. In real estate, there are apartment building or commercial purchasing experts. In travel, there are spa and resort specialists. A good mentor or expert will always be worth their own price in saved time, reduced headache or greater efficiency.

In every successful exchange, both sides will feel they got the longer end of the stick. There are always great deals, and great opportunities — and great prices to go with them!
