kinect
Kinect, formerly known as Project Natal, is a USB-connected peripheral, like a web camera but with extra goodies, for use on Microsoft's XBox 360.
XBox Kinect uses infra-red technology to track game players in 3D space. It comes equipped with a microphone, and also has the ability to record players in full RGB color. It has face recognition capabilities to automatically sign players in to the system.
Kinect comes with chat software called videokinect to allow users to have video chat with friends and family over Xbox Live or Windows Live Messenger.
Kinect is dubbed as a "controller-free gaming and entertainment experience."
You'll find bloggers talking about Kinect at sites like 123 Kinect and The Kinect Blog.
