Sydney:  Wicketkeeper Matthew Wade's brilliant 72 Run knock and David Hussey's all-round performance lead Australia to a magnificent 31-run victory over India in the first T20 international match.

Earlier India won the toss, and elected to field. Opening batsmen David Warner hit 2 sixes and 1 four in his 25 run of 14 balls, while the star of the match Matthew Wade smashed three sixes and five fours in his 72 runs knock that came from just 43 balls.

Wade reached his maiden Twenty20 international half-century with a six which also brought up Australia's hundred in the 13th over itself. David Hussey's 40 runs helped Australia reach 171 for the loss of 4 wickets .Rahul Sharma,R.Ashwin,Suresh Raina,Vinay Kumar took one wicket each.

Chasing 172 runs target India had a poor start by losing Virender Sehwag on the third ball of second innings, David Hussey caught Sehwag in the slips on the bowling of Brett Lee.
