Apparently the Philadelphia Eagles think Michael Vick is ready for prime time action and is no longer a PR headache.

According to a team source that spoke to ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter,  the Philadelphia Eagles will start Vick at quarterback on Sunday against the Detroit Lions. It'll be the first time that he will start in the NFL since Dec. 31, 2006.

During Week 1, Vick slid into the starting role as QB Kevin Kolb was knocked out of the game with a concussion, though Head Coach Andy Reid said Kolb was "making progress."

If Vick is going to be starting, it's probably because of the NFL's strict return-to-play guidelines for players who show concussion symptoms. If Kolb can't practice or attend meetings until he passes the next test, it'll probably mean that Vick will be at the helm.

In the first game of the season, Vick completed 16 of 24 passes for 175 yards and one touchdown, and scrambled for 103 yards. His efforts almost earned the Eagles a come from behind win, though they fell short.
