Special Teams: The kicking on the Texans was tremendously bad, as Kris Brown missed 11 field goals last season (three blocked). Two of those field goals could have sent Houston to an 11 win season and playoff berth. So they have brought in Neil Rackers, and the two will compete for the starting job. Brown would be kept around for kickoffs and long field goals. Veteran Matt Turk is the punter. Andre Davis and Jacoby Jones enter as kick and punt returner respectively, but expect Trindon Holliday to get most reps to see if he can make big plays for the special teams for Houston.

Outlook: The Texans are knocking on the door. If Schaub is healthy and the defense as a whole keeps gelling, they will breakthrough and make the playoffs. In order to do this, they must close out games this season, something Schaub has stressed is key. It will be up to them on how they get it done.
