As the FedEx Cup fields get smaller, so do groups to watch.  In true playoff fashion I've shortened the groups to watch from 3 to 2.  With out further suspense, here are two groups to watch this weekend.

2.   Matt Kuchar, Steve Stricker, Martin Laird:  If nothing else, I'm curious to see how Laird recovers from last weeks disastrous loss.  His 3-putt on the 72nd hole of The Barclays cost forced a playoff with Matt Kuchar, the eventual winner.  Laird currently sits in 3rd place in the FedEx Cup standings.  Steve Stricker has the nickname "Mr. September" and if he wants to win the FedEx Cup, this is the time to shine.  He currently sits in 2nd place in the standings behind Matt Kuchar.  Kuchar, the current front runner to win the FedEx Cup won last week at The Barclays.  His first PGA Tour win of the season but he's been one of the most consistent playes on Tour.  His 7-iron on the first hole of the playoff last week was one of the most impressive shots I've seen in a long time and is the reason he is at the top of the standings.

1.  Hunter Mahan, Jim Furyk, Bubba Watson:  How are the top 3 players in FedEx Cup standings on the pair to watch?  Easy, put this group together.  We all know what happened to Furyk last week at the Barclays.  His DQ dropped him from 3rd place to 8th in the FedEx Cup standings.  With a win on tour this season, I'm curious to see how he reacts to last week and if he can get in the top 5.  Bubba Watson is fun to watch.  He's positive and he plays aggressively.  It may have cost him the PGA Championship but when you're young you can be reckless.  Currently in 9th place, he'll look to reach the top 5 this week.  Hunter Mahan has two wins on Tour this year and is currently ranked 13th in the world.  Bottom line, he can play and although I cursed him last week by picking him to win (sorry Hunter), I think he can pull it out any week.
