Three Pairings to Watch at the PGA Championship
I could easily start this off with Tiger Woods group or a Jim Gray and Corey Pavin joke, but I won't. We can all agree when it's a major weekend, we have the best players in the world in the field. This weekend will be no different.

We all have pairings that we would love to see. Wouldn't it be great if Tiger, Mickelson, and Stricker were in a group together? Anyone of them could be #1 in the world after this event. It would be great to see Pavin and Montgomerie paired together representing each side of the Ryder Cup, but they're not.
We don't get to choose the pairings, but here are three groups we can enjoy Thursday and Friday. After that, it's anyone's guess who will be playing together.
Three Groups to Watch
3. Padraig Harrington, Davis Love III, John Daly: Padraig hasn't had the best year but he did win a couple of majors last year and on a links style course, he could impress us. Davis Love III is a good player to watch and although not his best year, he could shoot a couple of good rounds early on. Lets be honest, this group is about John Daly. As if his pants were not entertaining enough, he'll probably be at the top of the leaderboard at the end of round one and put together one of his fun collapses. This group could go one way or the other so keep your eye on them.
2. Phil Mickelson, Graeme McDowell, Louis Oosthuizen: The winners of the three previous majors are all paired together to see if any of them could capture their second. Mickelson needs no introduction. Winner of the 2010 Masters, he finished tied in a tie for 4th place at the US Open and if not for his Sunday collapse lase weekend, could be the #1 player in the world today. McDowell captured our hearts and our country's championship, the US Open. Since then he seems a little hungover but who could blame him. His tie for 6th place at the WGC- CA Championships is his only other top 10 this year. Louis Oosthuizen, what can you say about him? He ran away with the British Open this year and shocked the golf world. He can no longer sneak up on the field but the man they call Shrek certainly made a name for himself and proved he can play golf. He'll look to prove he's not a one hit wonder this weekend.
