Salmons Re-Signs with Bucks
When John Salmons arrived to the Milwaukee Bucks, he provided a spark that propelled the team into the playoffs over the final 30 games of the regular season.
He will now do that for years to come.
Salmons signed a five year, $40M contract that completes the Bucks rotation and gives them stability and a team that is built for the present and the future.
After going on a 22-8 run in the final 30 games of the season, and taking the Atlanta Hawks to a seven game series (without C Andrew Bogut), Milwaukee made a few adjustments to their roster this offseason to be even more competitve for the future. Also when Brandon Jennings, Salmons, and Bogut were in the lineup together, the Bucks were 18-5.
First the Bucks acquired Corey Maggette from the Golden State Warriors in a trade, then through another trade, they acquired Chris Douglas-Roberts from the New Jersey Nets, and finally befor the re-signing of Salmons, Milwaukee signed F Drew Gooden to a new contract, for at least the next three seasons, it gives the Bucks a very decent core group of players to work with, and allows them to be major players in the Eastern Conference.
The Bucks will introduce all of their new players once the free agency moratorium period is up on July 8th and the players can sign with their teams.
