Mickelson Announces Battle with Arthritis
The battle for the #1 World Golf ranking isn't Mickelson's only battle. Today he announced he's battling a form of arthritis that has hurt him so bad, he couldn't even walk shortly before the US Open.

In an announcement from the PGA Championship, Mickelson told everyone. He also informed the public he went to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN, after the British Open to receive treatment. His treatment is ongoing and Mickelson says he doesn't expect this to have a long term impact.
“Things have been looking great and long term there shouldn't be any issues,” said Mickelson, he told reporters at the press conference. “It's very treatable and the medicine I've been taking has been very helpful. I feel 90 percent.”
Mickelson will begin his quest to take over the #1 World Golf Ranking when he tees off on Thursday at 2:35pm EST.
