John Daly Posts Reporter's Phone Number On Twitter
John Daly's exploits on the golf course are legendary — he's a cross between Happy Gilmore and Larry the Cable Guy. What's not to love?
But if there's anything we've learned about famous golfers in the last few months, it's that people cannot get enough of their personal lives. So of course Garry Smits of the Jacksonville Times-Union was going to run with it when he got access to Daly's larger personnel file somehow. And if information about Daly firing golf balls at fans or the number of times he's entered alcohol rehab comes out the same day his show, 'Being John Daly,' debuted on the Golf Channel, well ... so be it.
Just don't expect Daly to be pleased with the extra publicity. He took to Twitter to fight back, directing several Tweets at Smits, including this one:
The paper might want to re-think that whole printing phone numbers strategy. Daly has more than 45,000 followers, so Smits better have a large mailbox.
