Busch Earns NASCAR Win; Edwards A Sore Loser
Kurt Busch notched his first win of the early 2010 Sprint Cup season in Atlanta on Sunday, leading most of the race along the way. It was not terribly different than any other day on the track, crashes included, with one exception - a crash that made folks forget all about Kurt Busch.
With three laps left, Carl Edwards - the pretty-faced, back-flipping fan favorite - went for revenge. Earlier in the race, Brad Keselowski had tapped Edwards and caused Edwards enough damage that he was sure to wind up at the bottom of the pack after falling a full 156 laps behind the leaders.
Edwards got into Keselowksi's back end, spun him sideways, and wound up sending Keselowski upside down and airborne into the wall. Fortunately for all involved, the improved safety of both the cars and the fence led to a far less gruesome crash than a year ago at Talladega when the same two men were in opposite roles.
That being said, shame on you, Carl Edwards. I don't care how angry you are at another driver, or what kind of history you may have. You are already flying around the track at 180+ MPH, there is no need to be seeking out other drivers and trying to make them crash.
