Boxing Champ Floyd Mayweather Facing Charges
While Floyd Floyd Mayweather Jr. is undefeated in the ring, he's been slapped with three more felony charges in a domestic violence case, which also included a theft charge, both of which could knock him in to jail for 34 years.
Clark County District Attorney David Roger is alleging that Mayweather hit and threatened the life of his ex-girlfriend, Josie Harris. Additionally, Mayweather is accused of threatening to beat two of their children during an argument at her home a week ago.
The 33-year-old Mayweather is one of the more recognizable faces in the sport of boxing — a sport that once was littered with stars like Mike Tyson, Evander Holyfield and George Foreman, among other legends.
He has a record of 41-0 with 25 knockouts and goes by the nickname "Money." He's also earned more than $20 million in May in one fight in Las Vegas against "Sugar" Shane Mosley, according to ESPN.
Mayweather is a free man, as he posted the $3,000 bail and is pending arraignment on Nov. 9. He was arrested last Friday on a felony grand larceny charge.
All in total, Mayweather is facing eight charges and all would increase the possible sentence, if convicted, to 34 years in the big house.
