Blog Focus: The New York Yankees are Close to the World Series and A-Rod is Clutch
Blog Focus is Technorati's daily roundup of the top stories as told by the bloggers of the world. Each day five posts, no matter how popular or nascent, will be selected by editors to portray a general unscientific reaction to discussion points around the 'Net.
The Yankees are on the verge of making it back to the World Series, our long national nightmare is over. Of course the blogs have some things to say after the Yanks' victory over Angels in Game four, to take a 3-1 series lead.

And if last season's World Series was any indication of what the weather can be like in late October in Philadelphia, add New York to that mix and expect a series that could go beyond the scheduled Game Seven date of Nov. 5."
Big League Stew: "As we've seen the past eight seasons, the Yankees' large payroll has been no guarantee of postseason success., But as we're seeing this fall, it can also provide a nice safety net if one of their highly-paid players falters., Lost amid the avalanche of dominating performances from Alex Rodriguez, CC Sabathia and Derek Jeter is the fact that Mark Teixeira — who signed an $180 million contract in the offseason — has mostly been producing bupkes at the plate."
