Arjun Atwal made par on the 72nd hole at the Wyndham Championship to capture his first PGA Tour title and become the first Indian born player to be crowned champion in a PGA Tour event.  After discussing with his caddy, Atwal intentionally played his 2nd shot off the hospitality tent behind the green and made par to hold off David Toms and finish at 20 under.

Atwal made 24 birdies and 4 bogeys on his way to winning but few were as exciting as his par on the 72nd hole.  The 18th at Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro, NC is a 507 yard par 4.  He becomes the first player in 20 years to win a PGA Tour event after qualifying and now has a 2 year PGA Tour exemption.

This comes in an event where players were looking to qualify for the FedEx Cup.  The top 125 in points will play next weekend at the Barclay's at Ridgewood Country Club in Paramus, NJ.  Several players fell just short this week including former Masters Champion, Mike Weir.  Weir missed the cut this week and finished in 128th.
