What's Next for Google?
Google is a company so embedded in online advertising, there’s no end to the search giant’s ambitions of web domination or the public’s appetite for its stock.
Google seems to be everywhere. It crawls the universe of data that in many ways defines our reality. And with the proliferation of mobile platforms, Google is omnipresent as Android is being hooked into our mobile experience at a much deeper level, according to reports.
It’s the only company on the web that has made information more available than any other technology in history.
Google knows all about the world and about...your secret passion, your girlfriend and even your self-diagnosed medical condition.
Google knows about billions of web pages. It is as dominant as the human race and the company will keep on looking for new ways to organize and search for information. It will try to make revenue on most of them, through of course, online ads.
The company seems to always launch clever new features, promising new business opportunities with each bit of news.
In addition to the growing market share of Android, Google's mobile reach is cross platform with the service being available via the browser and native Google apps on other mobile platforms such as the iPhone or Blackberry.
Another Google plan, according to reports, might come in the form of targeted social advertising — similar to what Facebook does within their network. Don't forget about GoogleTV either. And oh, by the way, what about the rumored tablet PC (an iPad killer?) and many more unannounced products on the drawing board.
Google is a threat to any company in their space or segments of business in which they now operate. Is Google aiming right at Microsoft, or have they already blown right by them (which appears to be the case)? There's no comparison, really, as no company in the history of the tech world has altered the web and, arguably, the mobile landscape the way Google has.
