The Technorati writers have been on fire lately covering a slew of recent news, ranting in our Soapbox Musings feature and in some cases, taking pot shots at major television networks.

Entertainment and Political Editor Curtis Silver does his typical Music Monday feature, focusing on the goodness over at Vimeo

One of the great things about the internet is the way the presentation of great music has evolved. Vimeo has become a fantastic destination for music. One of the many channels on Vimeo is Take Away Shows, presented by la Blogotheque.
Caroline Higgins covers the Wal-Mart acquisition news:
Wal-Mart is on the move again, this time bringing the "roll-back smiley" to the South African consumer. Wal-Mart, the world’s largest retailer, has offered to purchase Massmart Holdings Ltd., in a transaction worth about $4.2 billion.
Assistant Lifestyle Editor Nicole Wong and resident eco-enthusiast covers some news around white roofs:
The Associated Press reports that when temperature on the roof is measured with an infrared gun, white roofs can be 45 degrees cooler than conventional dark-colored roofing material.
Our travel expert Kaleel Sakakeeny writes about Southwest Airline's attempt to snatch up AirTran:
Just as Continental and United work toward a seamless merger, today’s news that Southwest Airlines will acquire competitor AirTran in effect continues to reduce airline choices for travelers, and ultimately hold them hostage to the pricing and fee whims of fewer and fewer airlines.
Curtis Silver is back with a pot shot at CBS:
According to the Hollywood Reporter, CBS is going back to the Twitter well to fish for television comedy ideas.
Their latest genius idea is based on the Shh... don't tell Steve twitter feed where some dude tweets idiotic statements from his moronic roommate, Steve. Tweets such as this are the highlight of that feed, "Steve, just now, yelling from our bathroom: 'Total Asparagus pee bro! Come smell!'"
You know what I smell CBS? Crap. It's pungent and permeating around the room. Everyone smells it.
Finally, I take a jab at Jonathan Papelbon who seems to have single-handedly sunk the Red Sox's chance of making the playoffs:
The Patriots are in full swing. The Bruins and Celtics are gearing up for their 2010-11 campaigns. Over at Fenway Park, the Red Sox are just about to pack it up for the winter.

If you read the blogs and newspapers as well as listen to the man on the street, you'll read/hear that they've had it with the closer Jonathan Papelbon.

What have you read on Technorati recently?
