"Life In A Day" Starts Today
Social media has brought people together unlike any technology, platform or product than ever before. There have been lots of talk of Facebook being the king, with their 500 million users, as well as other services like Twitter and LinkedIn connecting millions of people.
But, today, social media will connect people in a way that's never been done before.
Today, the YouTube project called "Life in a Day" kicks off. So grab your video camera and start shooting.
What is this project all about you may ask?
Well, it's a global experiment to create a user-generated feature film, shot in a single day, by everyone in the world.
Consumers have 24 hours to shoot footage of their everyday lives, which will be turned into a film produced by Ridley Scott and directed by Kevin Macdonald.
The film will premiere at the Sundance Film Festivalin January 2011 and will be featured on YouTube as well. If your footage makes the film, you will be credited as a co-director and you could possibly be one of 20 contributors brought to Sundance to celebrate with Kevin Macdonald.
