Glee Holds MySpace Casting Call

The producers of the popular TV show Glee are working with MySpace to host an open casting call for a part on the show. At least some people seem to think that the social networking site is still relevant!

MySpace calls the process a "uniquely interactive chance for aspiring actors and singers nationwide." You could also call it a desperate attempt for MySpace to remain cool for the youth market.

Casting a show via social networking isn't such a bad idea though. There's a pretty wide talent pool of non-actors out there just waiting to be exploited by the system.

Users will be able to audition with a selection of songs, including:

“And I Am Telling You I’m Not Going” – Dreamgirls
“Gold Digger” – Kanye West
“Rehab” – Amy Winehouse
“You Can’t Always Get What You Want” - The Rolling Stones
“Can’t Fight This Feeling” - Reo Speedwagon
“Don’t Rain on my Parade” – Barbra Streisand
“Hate on Me” – Jill Scott
“Keep Holding On” – Avril Lavigne
“Lean on Me” – Bill Withers
“True Colors” – Phil Collins

Boy, what a great selection. I think this is why I hate Glee
