Disqus Launches Community Likes (and Dislikes)
Disqus is one of the most popular comment management systems used by bloggers today. It enables blog managers to track comment, add social sharing options and review content in a user-based environment to look at trends, report spam, etc.
The company recently launched Community Likes, a feature that will help blog administrators to "pull a true community out of the audience that visits your site," according to a blog post by the company.
Liking comments has been a core piece of Disqus since the beginning, and we’re now extending this feedback mechanism to the top-level page or article itself. Community Likes is an easy, quick way for your visitors to give feedback and make their presence known on your site, all without having to post an actual comment.

Additionally, Community Likes also enables visitors to your blog to share the post on Facebook and Twitter if the reader gives the post a "Like." This of course, allows the reader (and you) to tap into the reach of Facebook and Twitter so your content gets read by other readers. A little warning, however: the "Life" feature also includes a "dislike" button, but according to Disqus, they have only seen a 10% use of the dislike button since implementation on existing sites where the feature is implemented.
If you are a site moderator on Disqus, you'll see a notification on your blog or when you log into the Disqus system that alerts you to the feature so you can turn it on.
What do you think of Community Likes? Are you using it? Like it, don't like it?
