Blog Focus: Witches, Miners, Facebook, Bing! Plus Skype, Flowcharts and Sustainability
It's time for another Technorati Blog Focus and as usual, our writers have cooked up a great variety of content for you to peruse.
Irvin Cohen presents his take on Delaware Senate candidate Christine O'Donnell, and makes an attempt to defend her.
...in her defense, I must say the lady is not a very seasoned, professional debater - in fact if anything is true she is its complete antithesis. But nevertheless that might be a saving grace for her in this particular election-cycle. But regrettably I also tend to doubt that too. Which puts her chances in this election squarely between slim, zero and that of a snowball in hell in the middle of a torrid heat wave in the month of July.
In a more positive (and somewhat less divisive) note, Caroline Higgins takes a look at the Chilean miner rescue, looking at the extra benefits they've been receiving since finally being rescued:
All the miners have been receiving interview offers, as well as gifts. One of Chile’s wealthiest businessmen has announced he will be giving each of the miners one million dollars.
Writer Tomica Bonner takes a look at the new features to come out of the Facebook and Bing partnership:
Now instead of asking a friend what they thought of a movie or restaurant you'll be able to find the answer on Bing. The results will range from the most popular choices to the least. This is only for Facebook users; those that aren't members on here or friends who haven't opted in will see regular search results.
To round things up, we've got a great look at the latest version of Skype by long-time Skype user Pablo Valerio, a quick review of Doogie Horner's book, Everything Explained through Flowcharts, and last but not least, Dale Burket's excellent piece on the practical side of sustainability.
