Today's blog focus is, yet again, a hodgepodge of news, including a fed up JetBlue flight attendant, a soccer goal via the face, a fired Major League Baseball manager and the Verizon and Google conversation over their tiered web.

JetBlue Flight Attendant
We've all had bad days at work. Sometimes you feel like getting up and going home.

Well, that's exactly what Steven Slater, a JetBlue flight attendant did today.

The New York Times City Room blog posted that Slater, 39, was frustrated with a customer who wouldn't follow directions. He proceeded to curse out the entire plane on the public-address system, activate the inflatable emergency evacuation slide, then slid down it, escaping into John F. Kennedy International Airport.

Police hunted Slater down and found him at his house in Belle Harbor, Queens. He was charged with reckless endangerment and criminal mischief.

Soccer Goal via The Face

Manchester United's wonder kid made his debut today and it was a memorable.

Leading 1-0, Javier "Chicharito" Hernandez somehow kicked the ball off his own face and scored...his first goal that is.

Wakamatsu Fired
Seattle manager Don Wakamatsu was canned today, according to ESPN.com. The Mariners started the day at 42-70, the second-worst record in the American League.

Verizon and Google Interweb Convo Continues
Google and Verizon are nearing an agreement where Google would not oppose the broadband provider if it wants to charge Website owners a fee for the privilege of delivering content more quickly to end users.

The interwebs are on fire about this topic, from bloggers, media sites and everyone in between.

Most feel that the web should remain open and a tiered system could cause more issues than solve.

But, as the convo raged on online, Google and Verizon could be waffling on their stance a bit.
