AddThis, the world's largest sharing platform, released some information within an infographic showing us the trends and statistics involved in sharing platforms for the year 2011. Some of the most prominent stats are sharing through facebook reached a dominant 52.1% of all sharing online, while Twitter accounts for just 13.5%.

Other interesting stats show that Google+ was showing huge growth, but as of lately, it has plateaued and has actually declined by 8% despite search results showing the +1 button and the recent launch of Google+ Pages for Businesses.

Sharing through mobile devices has increased six-fold over what it was last year, which may not be a shock to anyone given how popular smartphones and tablets are this year. What may be more shocking is that the Apple iPad actually has more sharing than the Apple iPhone. That is a stat I didn't expect to see.
