Obama and His Titanic Presidency Continue to Sink
The news this morning again reiterates everything President Barack Obama has done to try and get the American economy going again has failed miserably.
This morning the number of Americans applying for first-time jobless benefits rose to 9.6-percent, marking the third-straight month the economy has shed more jobs.
It’s getting hard to find anyone outside of White House staff willing to defend Obama and his failed economic policy. Even some hardcore Democrats are leaving the President – albeit quietly and in hushed tones – knowing full well he could be headed for the rocky shores of political ruin.
What’s more disconcerting, especially after hearing yet another rise in the jobless rate this morning, is Obama seems unmoved by both leading economic indicators and the almost certain political suicide he is committing. He doesn’t seem to be bothered at all about his eroding support across the nation even amongst the biggest groups of voters who helped him win the White House in 2008.
It’s becoming evident that Obama is what many on the Right described him as – an ideology-driven radical bent on reshaping American society. What else could be the answer for a man who, despite all of the numbers saying otherwise, continues to submarine an economy hurting working families and middle-class America?
Not to relive the 2008 election cycle, but then Republican candidate Sen. John McCain pushed hard the idea Obama was a socialist in capitalists clothing. Time and time again, “redistribution of wealth” became the rallying cry of the GOP against then-candidate Obama. The middle-of-the-road independent voter never bought it and instead played the role of big fish biting on the shiny lure that was Obama’s kitschy and memorable “hope” mantra.
Today, those voters have to be asking themselves what the hell happened to hope?
