Local Politics are Like Jerry Springer Episodes
I live in a suburb that's just north of the city of Boston, MA called Revere. It's just very much like other Greater Boston cities — heavy populated with a wide variety of people from different countries, backgrounds, socio-economic stature, etc.
The city has had its heyday, yet has a reputation of being one that's governed by corrupt individuals that might not actually have a political office — if you catch my drift.
One thing that the city has in common with others in the Greater Boston area, and in fact, the rest of the country, is that the local political scene is like a Jerry Springer episode.
Springer, as you know, typically features people from trailer parks or the ghetto who are arguing over a boyfriend, girlfriend or both. There is hair pulling, spitting, fighting, punching, etc. It's basically a full-blown battle.
Local politics are the same no matter what city you're in. There's a ton of grandstanding, political inbreeding, lovers' quarrels, corruption and drama — boat loads of drama. What the political morons seem to forget is that they are in office to work for us, the taxpayers. Their Springer actions aren't what we want. We want them to improve our roads, lower our taxes, keep our schools top notch and God forbid, just work for us.
Is that too much to ask?
