Health Care Filibuster Receives Joe-mentum

It looks like everyone's favorite Democrat-but-not-really Joe Lieberman (I-CT) is going to play the role of duodenum to the Republican intestine and the Democratic gut of this ongoing health care mess. With sixty votes needed to overturn a filibuster on the matter, Lieberman — one of the 60 — won't have any part of it.

So, in case you are now confused as to how health care will get passed:

Some think that Lieberman's renegade position may end up killing health care, which is possible, given that his digestive juices may dissolve the base which is driving the public option through Congress. Is there no rift in the congressional stomach that antacids can't solve?

Actually, what if the American people just receive free antacids? Not the flavored kind. Just the basic kinds that ease the pain of tummy aches and perhaps acid reflux.
