Government Continues to Fail on Immigration Reform
The Mensa (not really) that is our 
Department of Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano, is at it again.
A talented “let me stick my foot in my mouth” orator, Napolitano was asked when the administration thinks the border can be completely secured. In her infinite wisdom, she said:
“You’re never going to totally seal that border.”
Is it me or does it feel like we’re being governed by flippant teenagers?
To add insult to injury, that wasn’t the worst of it. As she continued to gush verbal diarrhea from her mouth, Napolitano dropped this missive: “The plain fact of the matter is the border is as secure now as it has ever been, but we know we can always do more. And that will always be the case.”
What?
You have one of the chief people responsible for protecting our country from all threats both domestic and foreign, and she’s throwing in the towel.
Now that’s leadership for you.
Today even, President Obama will again take his favorite spot at the podium in front of a teleprompter to, in essence, call for something close to amnesty for the 12 million illegal immigrants in the US. He and his entire administration continue to follow their own ideology rather than the will of the American people.
There’s no doubt the issue on the American-Mexican border is complex and there are no easy answers. But the starting point is easy: secure the border, the best that you can, and start enforcing immigration laws in our border states. It’s not being done, hence the Arizona law that has sparked so much controversy (at least with those on the left). The Federal government - both under George W. Bush and now Barack Obama - fails to secure the border to the fullest extent.
