Fools Rush In With Obama's Thesis Satire
In case you missed another exhibit of right wing media pundit Rush Limbaugh establishing again that facts don’t matter to him or his listeners, it’s time for a weekend recap of the The Obama ‘Thesis’ Hoax. It’s the case of a satirical post where-by Obama’s college thesis is satirically unearthed by Time Magazine columnist Joe Klein. The piece was found and exposed by an obscure blogger,, picked up and posted to the internet by an unknown blogger, and finally discovered by Rush Limbaugh for further propagation.
The original report cited Klein’s post (Klein calling it nonsense in his Swampland blog), in which Obama’s thesis was said to be loaded with jewels, like Obama’s disdain for the Constitution. Unfortunately for "obscure blogger" the post was a satire.
Leeder, in actuality not an unknown blogger — except possibly to those of us who don’t read neo-conservatism propaganda blogs — uncovered this great find, posted it to his blog or some other blog he is associated with, and fools Rushed in.
Rush parroted the find from the apostle of new conservatism, however, upon realizing that he had been punked Rush refused to apologize, instead referring to the mistake and having been caused by unknown and or obscure sources. Leeden, a major propagandist in the neo-Conservative movement can hardly be called unknown. Disingenuity and dishonesty don’t seem to embarrass Rush though. That’s the thing about ethics I guess. You either have them or you do not.
Leeden has since removed his original post, which was titled "Obama and the Constitution; He Has His Doubts" and replaced it with an apology, unlike the American Thinker who, upon finding out they had been duped in their eagerness to slam the current POTUS, just deleted their whole post, something that, though they apologized for later, one can't imagine an ethical publication doing.
