If you love stunning beaches, thrilling water sports, being surrounded by azure waters of the Pacific and flanked by the Sierra Madre Mountains at the background, then you should book your next trip to Ixtapa, Mexico. Ixtapa is a picturesque resort town which is rich in spectacular marine diversity, and is not jam packed with tourists as some other Mexican destinations of Cancun and Acapulco.

When visiting Ixtapa, the beach will be the favorite hang out spot for most visitors. Therefore, the recommended beach spot for those who want to try out kayaking or swimming then would be Playa Quieta. However, if you are looking for a beach that's full of sunbathers and surfers then your place to be would be Playa El Palmar. Playa Linda is also a popular beach among those who are looking for a more scenic jaunt, white sand and stunning sceneries. If you are feeling more adventurous, you can go horseback riding along the striking shoreline or visit the nearby El Cocodrilario to check out some crocodiles.

A few minutes from the resort town lays the laid back and gorgeous Zihuatanejo. It is home to Playa La Ropa and La Playa Principal where the beaches are not the only attractions but also the palapala style restaurants for fresh seafood. Check out El Museo Arcquelogico de la Costa Grande for an insightful glimpse into the region's history. Moreover, take a short and scenic boat ride to the nearby Playa Las Gatas for the best snorkeling sites. And, for a breathtaking view of the Zihuatanejo Bay, please don't miss a visit to the lighthouse.
