New Kids on the Block announced a  four-night Bahamas cruise for May 12, 2011 onboard the Carnival Destiny. The cruise goes on sale August 13th, with prices starting at $699 per person. Fares include a live concert, photo sessions, deck and beach parties, as well as a Q&A session with the band.

Lauderdale January 30-February 6, 2011 aboard Holland America Line’s brand-new ms Nieuw Amsterdam from $1,529 per person. Continental offered a sneak preview of the Boeing 787 Dreamliner at the 2010 National Business Travel Association on August 8th, 2010. Continental is the first U.S. carrier to take delivery of this model beginning next year. The 228 passenger plane will have traveler comforts including new flat-bed Business/First seats, increased luggage storage, larger windows, an innovative air purification system and more. The plane is unmatched in fuel efficiency, using 20% less fuel and emitting 20% less carbon dioxide than similar sized aircraft.

HomeAway, the leading online vacation rental marketplace, launches a free iPhone application to search for vacation rentals. The app was developed by Mobiata, who also put out the popular apps FlightTrack and TripDeck. You can download the application from the iPhone App Store, or at www.homeaway.com/info/travelers/iPhoneApp.

Earlier this year, Celebrity Cruise Line set up a partnership with Apple to offer ilounge internet cafes onboard their ships. Here passengers can use MacBooks for internet browsing, as well as purchase Apple gadgets and take classes on how to use products. Celebrity also uses iPads as a menu in their specialty restaraunt, Qsine. Diners can browse the menu with ease, as well as choose wine. Now Celebrity is expanding their ipad usage by offering self-guided art tours. The tours will be available on all Solstice class ships and will include floor plans of each deck, highlighting the art that is current on display. Guests can also touch the screen to learn about each piece.
