Destination Getaway in Virginia
When we think about getting away for a vacation its usually for the summer months when the weather is warm.
But how about in the fall when there is so many amazing changes taking place. The weather begins to cool down and the trees began to change colors and the sunlight beaming off of those hues of reds, yellows and oranges on the leaves.
There is just something so romantic about the fall season.
Virginia has a place that seems like the perfect getaway for a couple wanting to kickback and relax after working so hard. There's a tranquility and beauty that autumn provides that helps couples reconnect with each other. Virginia has 9 different scenic drives available like the Nelson Scenic Route that allows you to travel along the Blue Ridge Mountains, The Crooked Road -Virginia’s Heritage Music Trail and Skyline Drive just to name a few.
There is also the spectacular wineries. Virginia has 160 wineries statewide. In October they celebrate their annual Virginia Wine Month and pay homage to the grape at wineries statewide with festivals, special barrel tastings, harvest dinners and wine-themed travel packages. This would be an amazing treat and experience for someone who loves wine. Make it a priority to visit the wine trails if you travel there during the wine month. You can get the official 2010 Virginia Winery Guide free of charge from the web site at www.virginiawine.org if you plan on visiting this year.
Lets not forget about all of the fall festivals that go on in the state. There are quite a few of them happening during the months of September, October and November. To see a list or find out what type of festival is happening, when it is happening and where its happening visit www.Virginia.org for more information or call 1-800-VISITVA for a free Virginia is for Lovers travel guide. I hope this helps you make that decision on the perfect vacation or romantic getaway.
